Accessibility Statement
Built so every visitor can browse, choose, and check out with ease.
This page explains, in specific and honest terms, how mason-park.com is designed for people using a keyboard, a screen reader, voice control, or magnification, where we still fall short today, and exactly how to reach a real person if something on the site or in your order gets in your way.
Accessibility is a design requirement, not an afterthought
What we are working toward
Mason Park is the trading name under which Black Scape LLC operates mason-park.com. We design and review mason-park.com against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the most widely recognized benchmark for accessible websites. We treat this as an ongoing engineering and content standard applied to every template, product page, and checkout step we build or edit, not a one-time badge.
Why we are stating this plainly
No website, including ours, can honestly claim to be perfectly and permanently accessible to every visitor at all times — new products, new site features, and third-party tools are added regularly, and each one is checked against this standard as it ships. Where we know of a gap, we say so in the "Known limitations" section below rather than making a blanket claim of full compliance.
What we actually build into the site to make this real
These are the concrete, ongoing measures behind the commitment above — not marketing language, but the specific practices our team and our Shopify theme follow.
Semantic structure
Pages use structured, semantic HTML — proper headings, landmarks, lists, and form labels — so screen readers and other assistive technology can interpret page structure correctly rather than reading a flat wall of text.
Descriptive image text
Product photography — including every listing in Tops, Bottoms, Outerwear, Footwear, and Accessories for men and women — is given descriptive alternative text so a screen-reader user hears what the garment or item looks like, not just a filename.
Color contrast & readable text
Body text, links, prices, and buttons are checked against our cream, ink, and cognac palette for a minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio, and text can be resized up to 200% in the browser without content overlapping or being cut off.
Full keyboard operability
Every interactive element — navigation, size and color selectors, cart, and checkout — can be reached and operated using a keyboard alone (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, and arrow keys), with a visible focus outline at every stop.
Motion that can be turned off
The animated elements on our pages, including this one, respect your operating system's "reduce motion" setting. If you have that preference enabled, decorative motion is disabled automatically and content displays in its final state.
Accessible sizing information
Size charts for Footwear, Tops, Bottoms, and Outerwear are marked up as real data tables with row and column headers, so a screen reader announces "Size, Chest, Length" correctly instead of reading a disconnected grid of numbers.
Accessible forms & errors
Contact, newsletter, and checkout forms use visible labels tied to each field and describe validation errors in text (for example, "Email address is required") rather than relying on color alone to signal a problem.
How accessibility works across our specific catalog
Different product types need different accessible presentation. Here is how that applies across everything we sell.
Footwear: Loafers, Sneakers & Sandals
Every footwear listing states its size range and, where sizing runs differently from standard US sizing, a written note in the product description in addition to the size chart, since a data table alone can be hard to scan quickly on a screen reader or small screen.
Sunglasses, Watches & Belts
Frame width, lens category (UV protection), case diameter, strap material, and belt length are written out as plain text in the product description, not embedded only inside an image, so this information is available to screen-reader and low-vision customers.
Bags, Tops, Bottoms & Outerwear
Dimensions, fabric composition, and care instructions appear as selectable text alongside each listing. Color-swatch selectors are labeled with the color name, not only shown as a colored dot, so they are announced correctly by assistive technology.
What we test the site against
Screen readers & browsers
We check core shopping flows — browsing a category, opening a product page, adding to bag, and completing checkout — using common combinations such as VoiceOver with Safari, NVDA with Chrome or Firefox, and TalkBack with Chrome on Android, alongside the current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.
Zoom, magnification & contrast tools
The site is built to remain usable at up to 400% browser zoom on a 1280px-wide viewport without loss of content or function, and does not disable or conflict with operating-system-level high-contrast or magnification tools.
Please note: we build and test against these tools because they are the most common in use today, but we cannot guarantee compatibility with every assistive technology, browser, or device combination in existence. If something does not work with the specific setup you use, please tell us — see "Report an issue" below.
Where we are not yet fully there, stated honestly
In the interest of transparency, here are the specific areas of mason-park.com we know still need work, rather than a vague or blanket compliance claim.
Third-party embedded content
Some elements on our site — including the embedded Google Maps view of our Wilmington operations address on our Contact page, and the hosted checkout and payment pages operated by our payment processors — are built and maintained by third parties. We choose vendors that make reasonable accessibility efforts, but we do not control their code and cannot guarantee it meets the same standard as pages we build ourselves.
Legacy or archived product listings
Older seasonal listings, such as past collections that have been marked sold out or archived, may not yet have the same level of descriptive alt text and structured sizing data as current listings in the Early Fall Collection and our core categories. We are working through these on a rolling basis as we refresh the catalog.
User-generated review content
Customer photos submitted with verified product reviews are not authored by us, so we cannot guarantee every customer-submitted image includes alternative text. Where this affects your ability to evaluate a product, our support team can describe the image content to you directly.

The accessibility and consumer-protection laws relevant to your order
Because Mason Park ships to customers across the United States and internationally, more than one legal framework can apply depending on where you live. Nothing in this statement limits any right the law grants you.
Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires places of public accommodation, including many commercial websites, to be accessible to people with disabilities. U.S. courts and the Department of Justice have referenced WCAG 2.1 Level AA as a practical benchmark for what "accessible" means online, which is the standard we target across mason-park.com.
The Federal Trade Commission's rules on truthful advertising and the Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule also apply to how we describe, price, and ship products to U.S. customers.
California's Unruh Civil Rights Act extends ADA-equivalent accessibility obligations to businesses operating in the state and has been applied by California courts to commercial websites. We treat WCAG 2.1 AA conformance as the applicable standard for California-based customers.
California residents also hold rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) regarding personal data, addressed in full in our Privacy Policy.
New York's State Human Rights Law and New York City's Human Rights Law have both been applied to commercial website accessibility by state and city courts. Customers in other states retain whatever accessibility and consumer-protection rights their state law provides; our WCAG 2.1 AA target is applied uniformly across all fifty states rather than varied by jurisdiction.
The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) sets accessibility requirements for e-commerce services offered to consumers in the EU, effective from 28 June 2025. We apply WCAG 2.1 Level AA — the technical standard the Act is built around — to purchases made from EU member states.
EU customers also hold rights under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), covered in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
The Equality Act 2010 requires businesses providing services in the UK, including online retail, to make reasonable adjustments so disabled customers are not put at a substantial disadvantage. We apply the same WCAG 2.1 AA target to visitors browsing and purchasing from the UK.
The Accessible Canada Act (ACA) applies to federally regulated organizations, and provincial legislation such as Ontario's Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) sets accessibility requirements, including a WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level AA benchmark, for organizations operating in or serving that province. We apply this same benchmark to Canadian customers regardless of province.
The Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability, including in the provision of online goods and services, and the Australian Human Rights Commission has endorsed WCAG as the relevant technical standard. Australian customers also retain statutory guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that exist independently of this statement.
Customers in any other country we ship to retain whatever mandatory accessibility and consumer-protection rights their local law provides. This statement, and our WCAG 2.1 AA target, is intended to supplement — never replace or limit — those rights.
This statement is reviewed as the site changes
Each time we add a product category, redesign a page, or introduce a new checkout or payment feature, that change is reviewed against WCAG 2.1 AA before and after it goes live. This statement is reviewed and, where needed, updated at least once a year and whenever a material change is made to the site.
Ways we improve over time
Fixes reported through the feedback process above, periodic manual review of new templates and product pages, and testing against updated versions of WCAG as they are published all feed into this ongoing process — not a one-time audit that is never revisited.
